Keeping tradition alive we went up to the Oregon Golf Club for the 4th of July party they do every year with clowns, face painting, jumping castles and lots of food and dancing. Grandma and Papa Scott joined us for lunch and the kids had a great time running around and eating snow cones. We came home for a rest and to cool down from the hot day and then went over to the Snook's for the annual neighborhood BBQ and firework show. The police came before we even got started and said they got a call that this was the neighborhood that let off the illegal fireworks so we were a little worried but I think it helped once they found at Jack was the retired fire chief! They block the street off so the kids can run around, ride bikes and have fun without worrying about cars. We stayed until about 10 when Jalen got tired and Lily couldn't take it anymore...she has never liked loud noises like that. It was a fun day...a pretty low key holiday!
